Forklift & Aerial Lift Train-the-Trainer Course

 

This action-packed course provides trainees with practical experience, and instills confidence in their ability to return home and instruct your operators in safe operation.

Training a trainer is an excellent option if you want to keep your training budget low, need extra training flexibility, have unique or complex equipment or have employee turn over. Participants of this course will:

  • Learn OSHA & ANSI standards
  • Receive classroom instruction on rough terrain, telescopic handlers and aerial work platforms
  • Learn legal ramifications and how to avoid a lawsuit
  • Learn how to identify and correct equipment safety problems
Classroom training will be at the BX, with operations and final hands-on evaluations conducted at Straight Up Equipment Co.

Permit Required Confined Space Training

 

This course is designed for those who will serve as entrants, attendants, entry supervisors and non-entry rescue personnel. The training will use the recommendations of ANSI Z490.1-2009 “Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training” and will include both classroom and “hands-on” exercises.

Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • properly demonstrate the methods to conduct air monitoring with a gas monitor prior to and during entry into a permit required confined space
  • determine ventilation requirements for a given confined space
  • properly set up an emergency retrieval device
  • properly complete an entry permit
  • demonstrate proper care and wear of required PPE
  • identify energy sources and explain means of de-energizing each source

Managers and supervisors play an important role in their company's Drug-Free Safety Program. In this class, they will receive guidelines on getting to know their employees and observing changes in their job performance, along with documenting their observations and learning how to confront an employee.

PLEASE NOTE: Each participating company must submit a copy of their drug-free workplace policy prior to the day of the class.

 

CREDITS

This class meets the one-hour training component of the BWC Drug-Free Safety Program for Supervisors and is approved for 1 hour OCILB credit in Health and Safety.

Certified by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI), this course will teach you to provide first-responder care for injuries and illnesses, with topics such as:

  • Rescue breathing

  • Bandaging and splints
  • Proper AED use

When you complete the class, you will receive one certification card from ECSI for first aid, CPR and AED valid for two years.
